Kennesaw State University (KSU or the University) periodically conducts, sponsors, or hosts programs designed to serve minors who are not enrolled as students, including but not limited to camps, clinics, after-school programs and activities. KSU is dedicated to creating an environment in which minors may safely participate in University sponsored programs, or programs operated by third parties held on University facilities.
The Board of Regents (BOR) of the University System of Georgia (USG) Policy 12.9 Programs Serving Minors was establised to promote the safety and welfare of those who participate in these programs conducted, hosted, or sponsored by any USG institution. The BOR policy is effective for programs operating on or after May 1, 2017.
The University formed a project team in the Spring of 2016 to facilitate the implementation of these policies/procedures and to establish operational improvements to ensure compliance for KSU sponsored programs, or programs operated by third parties held on University facilities.
KSU policy and related procedures will be presented to campus in late 2016 for feedback and will be submitted the BOR as required by January 1, 2017. Implementation of these policies/procedures at KSU is planned for early 2017 and to ensure compliance by May 1, 2017 as required by the BOR policy.
